When Walter Cronkite shed a tear on air reporting Kennedy’s death, he was mortified and so were some of his peers. Today’s media scum seem to believe their opinion or the Funny RoD Rockhouse Wolf Pack Shirt but in fact I love this opinions they regurgitate have meaning to people of normal integrity with IQs over about sixty. Today some media scum wear enough blood on their sleeves to make it almost impossible for casual viewers to separate kernels of truth from the blobs of shit put out nearly every segment. It is possible only if the reporter is determined to be fair to both sides and his/her editor accepts that. Hence a relative lack of bias can be found in the reporting — not the editorials — of most major newspapers. Even the liberal NY Times might surprise you in its willingness to report unfavorably about Democrats and other liberals. Opinions go on the op-ed page and those are supposed to be biased (Though the Times op-ed page has two liberal AND two conservative columnists.). What keeps bias at bay is you — the reader/watcher. If you detect bias or innacuracy, and you respond by turning off that station, canceling your subscription to that paper, or writing and complaining, the powers that be hear you. If enough people do it, they will make corrections, unless, of course, they have a specific political mission, are run by zealots, and are determined to pursue their own version of truth. I’ll let you figure out who that might apply to in the media.

We know that politicians fabricate stories, or twist facts to make the information sound more appealing to their political party and constituents. Then you need a fact checker for them.
